Alexander Galant
BIOGRAPHY
Alexander Nonaka Galant is a Mexican-Japanese Canadian storyteller with European Jewish background. He has built up a solid knowledge base by working in a plethora of technical positions in theatre, film and television. After two seasons as Script Supervisor on Chucky, the showrunner and producers gave Alexander the opportunity to direct 2nd Unit.
A self-starter, he has created his own projects by writing, producing and directing several short films. Many have enjoyed success at film festivals: Shadowed (Silver Remi -WorldFest Houson), The Missing Piece (Silver Remi -WorldFest Houson), and Star Wars: Blasted Behavior (Winner - NY Int'l Film Fest, AtomFilms Star Wars Film Challenge, DragonCon).
Alexander also directed character-driven stage productions such as Les Misérables, Twelve Angry Men, and The Diary of Anne Frank. His film-making experience was key when he mixed custom projections with live stage action in Singin' in the Rain, The Wizard of Oz and Titanic the Musical.
Recently he was commissioned to write the pilot for a World War II Canadian soldier story, and took advantage of the Covid quarantine to complete a feature film script, The Ghostwriter, making the leap towards directing long-form.
